22 School News APRIL 2016 COLLEGEPARKPAPER.COM Edgewater High School Students make 5,000 sandwiches for needy A huge thank you to everyone who was a part of the PB&J Challenge at Edgewater High School this week. The EHS community rallied in full force with support for this great student driven service project and the event was an amazing success. Over 5,000 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were made in only an hour. Sandwiches were then distributed to the homeless and hungry the Orlando area. Orchestra brings home high ratings Edgewater Orchestra took two groups to Musical Performance Assessment in March and both did very well. The older group did well enough to score a top rating which allows them to represent Edgewater at the state MPA in Tampa on April 14. Stu- dents who earned Superior ratings at the solo and ensemble festival in the fall have the opportunity to represent Edgewater at the State S/E April 9 in Brandon. The students enjoyed perform- ing for Sunday in the Park and our next performance scheduled is the spring concert April 28th in the Edgewater perform at 7 PM. They will be joined by the Lee Orchestras as well. Community invited for movie, food trucks Grab a blanket, your family and some friends and head on down to the EHS baseball field for Movie Night on the Bayou on April 15. Join us for a night of adventure, love, jazz and magic, with a showing of the Princess and the Frog. Admission is free but donations are welcome. 100% of the proceeds will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma society to help find a cure for blood cancer. The show starts at 7:00 p.m. but come early and come hungry because there will be a variety of food trucks and concessions to enjoy.
